November 2026
Note: please keep in mind that you are MORE likely to feel the impact of planetary shifts if you are under the influence of the planet mentioned. This means that you are in the period or sub-period related to that planet (Maha-Dasha or Antar-Dasha), or if the planet holds a prominent place in your natal chart (impacts your 1st house or ruling planet, dominates your chart, etc).
November Overall Theme: That which sustains.
Self care that nourishes.
Organization that sustains.
Shedding of excess to clear the path (so that we can see our truth).
Commitment to our work (done in a way that is routine, systematic, and organized).
Ancestral blessings.
What holds us in stability? What routines have we implemented that nourish us? Do our routines provide clarity? It is through routine that we are able to check all of the boxes so that we don’t have a bunch of “to do’s” hanging over us, and this is how we make room for clarity. Organization can free us from the swirling chaos of life when we do it right. This month, think about your relationship with routine. How can you subtract what you have outgrown? How can you incorporate routines that support?
Jupiter
Jupiter has shifted into the sign of Leo, in Magha Nakshatra (associated with the ancestors) on October 31st (divine timing, I might add, given it coincides with all hallows eve). The process of this transition puts Jupiter is in a sensitive place (the gandanta, the threshold between signs). And in this case, we are moving from a water sign, to a fire sign. It will take some time for Jupiter to embody the themes of Leo; leadership, authority, children (and relating to children), advising, counsel, the arts, aspirations, intelligence, and the analytical mind. Here, Jupiter will bring some much needed wisdom to our relationship to authority (our own inner authority, and leaders and leadership on the bigger scale), but we are going to feel extra sensitive during the transition. If you find yourself feeling slighted, as if you are not recieving the recognition you deserve, or as if you are not reaping the rewards you are due, I recommend starting a gratitude practice during this month, while Jupiter is in transition, and be gentle with yourself and with others when these feelings come up.
We will get into the placement of Ketu in Leo later in this post, but our relationship with leadership and authority in life has been severely compromised for the past year and a half. Jupiter will shed some much needed light here. You will want to see where Leo falls in your chart to understand what this transit might bring up for you. The house that Leo is in will reveal the flavor the wisdom given and received during this transit, as well as the area of your life the wisdom will enrich.
If you are in a Sun, Jupiter, or Ketu period, you are more likely to feel the effects of Jupiter in Leo, but keep in mind that the slow movers impact us all. This transit lasts from October 31, 2026 to January 25, 2027.
Saturn
For the entirety of this month, Saturn remains in Pisces in Uttara Bhadrapadha (his own Nakshatra), "the warrior star." This is about letting go of excess (systematically, though), in order to build structures that are stabilizing. Saturn wants us to pave the way for true growth, spiritual growth, connection to what is real, and this is done through systems and routines that work. Saturn appreciates, even admires, the long, slow, processes that consider the big picture, and we pay homage to Saturn by stripping away the excess and committing to the task at hand, without attachment to the outcome.
Week 1
Dark Moon Week (Internal Work)
November 2026 begins with a dark half moon in Pushya Nakshatra, which brings themes of nurturing and care. The dark moon asks us to take care of ourselves during the waning moon phase, as we make our way to the no moon day: Amavasya ~November 8th.
The moon is dark this week, and the focus is on internal cultivation of the themes provided by the planetary positions and the lunar transits. Is there an aspect of self that you are not nourishing? Allowing to shine? Are you using your intellectual mind in ways that do a disservice to your public or private self? How can you nourish the parts of yourself that need to grow?
What can you do to give these parts of self what they need in order to be ready for the outward phase of the lunar cycle?
Venus, the Sun, and Mercury
Venus, the Sun, and Mercury are all together in Libra this week ~which brings beauty, a natural ability to shine, and the intellectual mind together in a house associated with balance, organization, and learning.
Beauty and beautification are a theme this week, especially the 4~7th of November. What kind of self care might you be able to employ so that you can feel and look your best? Beauty and beautification are a theme this week, especially the 4~7th of November. What kind of self care might you be able to employ so that you can feel and look your best?
For those who celebrate, Friday, October 6th, is Dhanteras, the day that Danvantari, Lord of Āyurveda, is honored. Rituals for health and wealth are done on this day.
Week 2
New Moon
We start this week off with the new moon (Amavasya).
Sunday, November 8th is Deepavali, or Diwali, the darkest day of the year, in the Vedic/Yogic/Hindu traditions. We offer "light" on this day in the form of lamps to represent and honor light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, truth over not-truth, and we ask that the path before us be lit so that we can see our own truth and the truth of the universe clearly. On Deepavali, we celebrate spiritual awakening. Many honor Lakshmi, the goddess of beauty and wealth on this day. The home is cleaned, the diyas or candles are lit at sunset, and Lakshmi is invited into the home, hearth, and heart, so that we may recieve her gifts of true beauty (inside and out) and true wealth (financial and spiritual).
There is so much more to the meanings of Diwali (I know that I am not doing this justice here). Different dieties are celebrated acording to region and culture, but the message of honoring the light is most important here. Can you see the divine light within? How can this light be the beacon that guides you along the path?
This Diwali new/no moon begins in Swati Nakshatra, "the self going star," and ends in Vishaka Nakshatra, "The star of purpose," in the sign of Libra.
Key themes here are sustenance, friendship & social connections that sustain & support, finances that sustain & support, organization (to support your endeavors), standing in your power (supported by the ancestors). It also brings up themes of support through business partnerships, through marriage, and the work that we do here to sustain these supportive relationships.
This configuration brings our relationships to center stage. Are we entering into relationships that are supportive? That are nourishing?
The lotus is supported, sustained, and nurtured by the mud. What do you have in your life that acts as the mud for you? Can you be firm in your sense of self, stable in place and in time, trusting the forces that hold you in the present moment? Having faith and a sense of knowing that these forces will continue to carry you? How can you move through the next moon phase embodying these themes? Can you make an effort to organize your finances? Your calendar? Your daily routine? Your systems? Your process? Can you be in or make connections with others? To be in friendship (to support others)?
If you are setting an intention for the waxing moon period, to shine a light on some aspect of your life, these themes may be a guide for you...
November 11-12th is an auspiscous time. Do something meaningful that you would like blessings for. Spiritual work done during this phase brings blessings, support, and sustenance.
Week 3
Brightening Moon
Keep it up. You have the most lunar support during this moon phase.
Week 4
Full Moon Blessings
During the full moon, we embrace and embody her abundant energy. This moon is in Aries. It begins in Bharani Nakshatra, "The star of restraint," or "The bearer," and ends in Krittika Nakshatra, "The star of fire," or "The cutters: to be critical." This moon asks us to consider what needs to be released, cut from your life, as the moon wanes. Can we be mindful about what we consume, what we take in, AND what we let go of? Can we be honest with ourselves, and with others? What is it that we plan to carry forth? What is it that we plan to release? You can set your intentions on this day. You can sacrifice the intention that was set on the new moon for a new intention, if you feel called. You can make moon water today, if you feel called, and sip it every evening as the moon reveals itself until the next new moon, so that you remember and honor your intention as she wanes, and so that she supports you as you shed the excesses.
The 24th (the day after the full moon night) is inauspicious for starting new ventures, making big purchases, and for doing external things in the world. Just a heads up to plan for down time on this day.
On November 26th, Rahu-Ketu enters Capricorn-Cancer

This is a major shift that brings the focus of these chaya graha (shadow planets/graspers) out of the current Aquarius-Leo axis where technological advancement, innovation, ambition, and networking took center stage, along with detachment from true power (within us, and globally).
I am going to get into the current configurations first, as they set the stage for the direction that we are going in....
The IT and ambition part of Rahu in Aquarius, probably rings true for many of us who are paying attention to the direction that the world is going in. This brings a technological focus to social structures, these are the networks and organizations of society. Where we have Rahu we have innovation of some kind in that area, but this is a shadow, and as such, it is at the expense of dharma (cough AI cough), at the expense of what is right, of what is just, at the expense of divine truth. We have advancement that goes against and is at the expense of the natural order. In the past year and a half AI has crept into social organizations, business structures, government, and more. In many instances, it has become the go-between, inserting itself between human to human contact. Aquarius represents networking, and with Rahu here we see how technological forces have impacted this area of life.
Where have we enabled technology to take the place of, or separate us from, our humanity? The humanity of others? Aquarius is, after all, the humanitarian.
While Ketu, the headless tail of the serpent, has been in Leo, it has detached us from true power, from divine leadership, from honorable authority. Leo is owned by the sun, and so with Ketu here, our relationship to leadership & authority, has been in the shadows… in a global sense, and within ourselves.
With this configuration, we as a global community have all been at the risk of serving false leaders. We have been at risk of, or coerced into, accepting innovation at the expense of the natural order. Our inner authority has also been in the shadows, making us more likely to fall for compromises and "advancements" that will not serve us long term. We have been more likely to sacrifice our inner authority to climb the social ladder. We have been more likely to accept perceived gains (social gains, gains in the form of money, promises that are too good to be true, etc.) from false leaders. We have been more likely be duped, to be scammed.
This configuration has been in place since May of 2025… and if you think back a bit with all of this in mind, you might see where your own sense of authority has been sacrificed on the altar of shiny promises. Have you been duped in the past year and a half? Have you been unable to recognize true authority and leadership? Have you been in the service of a false idols? Have your own leadership skills been eclipsed by innovation (job and skill loss due to AI, perhaps)?
The shift to Capricorn - Cancer, changes things...
Rahu in Capricorn asks us to work. Hard. Hard work is on the table here, and for what? It will be at the expense of home, of comfort, of connection to the mother, of emotional well being. Ketu in Cancer brings disconnection from the hearth of the self (the heart, the home). Where ketu in Leo impacted our relationship with authority (the father, the Sun), and Ketu in Cancer impacts our relationship to the heart and home (the mother, the Moon).
My advice for this transit is to STAY CONNECTED TO YOUR INNER DIVINITY. If you have a mantra practice involving Devi worship, you will want to double down on that. Stay committed to it. Our relationship to home will be tested during this time. Our stability. And we will be forced to make up for this with hard work. Make sure the work that you do is aligned with a greater truth. This is not an area that you should compromise in. If you are forced to take a job that goes against your values, perhaps because your sense of home is threatened, this time asks you to question this, to stand up for what is right, and to make sure you aren't accepting a compromise that will disrupt your connection to heart and home. That will dissolve your access to inner peace.
For the first part of this transit, Rahu will be in Dhanistha Nakshatra, which is ruled by Mars. This amplifies the fire, action oriented energy of Rahu. Things at work may amp up fast. Circumstances may require more work of us. Some of us could benefit from this, financially speaking, while others might be making sacrifices that barely allow them to scrape by. If their are benefits to be has, make sure that they align with the bigger picture, with what is right, for you.
Ketu will be in Ashlesha Nakshatra, ruled by Mercury, during the first part of the transit through Cancer. Karmic baggage may come to surface, especially involving the maternal lineage. Do not be tempted to brush this under the rug, for it will come back ten fold if you do not deal with it when it makes itself known to you. There is an intense transformation taking place here, and Ketu may lead us to believe that the things that come up just aren’t for us right now. That they are not important. That they can be put off until later. Do not let the shadow obscure the very important work that you need to do at home. We must tend to the hearth if we are to do work of value in the world. Keep this front and center during this transit.
Wishing you a stabilizing, supportive, and nourishing moonth of November.
